Personal data collected on this site is processed by the owner of You & the Ocean (C. Portugal 12, 38190 Tabaiba, Tenerife, Spain — registration VV-38-4-0093375), acting as data controller.
Data we collect
Through the booking form on this site, we collect:
- Identity: name
- Contact: email address
- Stay details: arrival date, departure date, number of guests, free-form message
No payment data is collected on this site. Bookings are confirmed by direct email exchange.
Why we collect it
- To answer your booking enquiry (legitimate interest, GDPR Art. 6.1.f)
- To organise your stay if a booking is confirmed (contractual basis, GDPR Art. 6.1.b)
Retention
Enquiries that do not result in a booking are kept for up to 12 months, then deleted. Booking-related data is kept for 5 years (Spanish accounting and tax obligations) before being deleted.

- Erase your data
- Restrict or object to processing
- Data portability
- Lodge a complaint with the AEPD (Spanish data protection authority — aepd.es)

This site uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service hosted in the European Union. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, does not track users across websites, and does not share data with third parties. See plausible.io/data-policy.

We use a single technical cookie, preferred-lang, to remember your language preference between visits. It contains only the two-letter language code and is not shared with any third party.
External services
- Bunny Fonts (RGPD-compliant, EU-hosted) for typography
- Google Maps (embedded map) — Google may set its own cookies; refer to Google's privacy policy
- Netlify Forms (US-based) for form submissions — message content is forwarded to the owner's mailbox
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Data submitted via the form is encrypted in transit and stored securely.
